Okay lets try a different option. Create a new profile, make sure no mods are active, then start the new profile and go straight into the truck browser and see if the lights are working again. In the highly unlikely event that you are in the 1% where some other rare issue is going on, please post the game log from the new profile and I will bug

They didn't screw up anything. This is a known problem caused by old Mods which are not compatible with v1.40. In my experience it was one old traffic mod.

@JiX I reported the issue to SCS. As it turns out, it's supposed to be like that. :/ Take the example of the Scania. All Scania trucks come with a white backlight, hence why all the buttons including the GPS display have a white backlight.
